Lebanese brand Bokja mends good damaged in Beirut explosion

- 200910

A beautiful project from the Lebanese brand Bokja: the founders have transformed their studio in a community center, to support their Bokja Mends initiative which offers free repairs and re-upholstering of goods damaged in the August 4th blast.

"Bokja Mends is simply a means to support the unsupported and to protect and preserve memories of those who have lost more than just their homes," the studio told Dezeen. "The signature stitch is a red stitch inspired from a surgical suture normally used to close and heal wounds on the human body," they further explained. Calling it "Stitching back Beirut", I encourage you to celebrate their effort and discover their latest embroidery collection, Solastalgia.
